Flash Fiction Friday…What a Teese!

She draped herself across the bearskin rug. Dita’s robe opened to show her lovely breasts accented by the chain dangling between them. Breathe!” he thought trying to concentrate. Dirk was in heaven.

Her sultry looks had captured his eye on the covers of Elle and Penthouse. The Playboy cover had rocked his world. Dirk knew that while he could never have her, he could photograph her.

Her website provided a calendar of burlesque shows. Dirk showed up and took pictures from the audience. She was magnificent. That 22 inch waist highlighted by costumes that seemed to melt into her skin. His obsession grew when he purchased Midori’s book, The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage, with Dita on the cover. The thought of her bound in silken ropes just sent him over the edge.

One evening, the theater manager asked Dirk what he was doing. Dirk showed his photographs on the camera to him. The manager hired Dirk to photograph the shows professionally. Dirk couldn’t believe his luck. Pay for his obsession!

His expertise earned him a private session tonight. Dirk slid the filter that softened her looks with a smoky haze onto his camera and began the photo shoot.

This week’s challenge was 100-200 words and the phrase smoky haze combined with a seductive picture of Dita von Teese lounging on a bearskin rug. Love the pic, and had a bunch of ideas roll through my thoughts. Then I thought about it. Pictures. Without the art of photography, we’d be without so much beauty. No Flash Fiction Friday inspirations. No magazines full of luscious bodies, no Internet as we know it or any of the ‘French Postcards’ which started so much of this genre. So, I went with it. What would it be like to be so obsessed with a person. One you knew you couldn’t possibly merit on any level? And better yet, due to professionalism, be rewarded by working together? That’s where my mind went. Hope you enjoyed my work.

Obviously you’re more of a connoisseur of models than I am; I had no idea who she was. Of course, you could be making the whole thing up and I wouldn’t know, which is why this one works; it doesn’t actually rely on any of it being common knowledge or real. I think you’ve captured the essence of what it is to be in the narrator’s position, simultaneously on the inside and yet excluded.

Raised by a not so amateur photographer and loving art, yes… I do have an ‘eye’ for things. First ran across Dita though because of her corsetry. I’m also a seamstress. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the story. 🙂

Ms. Von Teese has a fabulous look about her and she’s perfection in this picture. I’ve obsessed over a few stars but lack the talent to get close to them in any reasonable manner. Luckily, I’m good at abductions… 🙂

LOL! Love the wallpaper too! I take it that you’ll be grabbing a camera and hanging around burlesque clubs now? 🙂

Loved how you tittled it playing on her name.
I like Dita too, also like the photographer. I had a purse with the lining being silk prints of Angelina Jolie all shot by Sean McCall.
    Great story.

I love playing with words, and Dita’s last name was just too good to pass up! 🙂 Glad you liked the story.
